Here is another project I worked on as a DMP painting team lead at Axis - we were tasked with creating backgrounds for the opening animatic of the Ruination event. Both this and the closing animatic (Absolution) were a challenge as we had to develop new pipelines for dynamic moving cameras - something we haven't done before as a background painting team. We had two environments that required different approaches - we did 3d texturing mixed with some traditional 2d DMP for the exterior scenes and some interior assets, and our usual approach for the interior of the compound. I absolutely love the end result! The teams both at Axis and Riot are true champions for making these two animatics happen :)
